You can’t tell where your path will lead to, but always make your best in every step.

Roughly four years ago, Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi had a bit of a pollution problem, much like every other metropolis on the planet. “It wasn’t unbreathable, though” explains Tran Duc Nghia, Chief Technology Officer at tMonitor. “But it was harder to find the blue skies and fresh air that we grew up with.”

One Vietnamese startup is set to launch a solution that monitors air quality in the workplace or wherever people gather.

Two young men from Vietnam caught the attention of many foreign visitors at IBM’s Think 2019 in San Francisco last February with their tMonitor - an indoor air quality monitoring solution. The tMonitor solution, including both software and hardware, leverages Machine Learning with IoT to monitor and prevent air pollution and improve health conditions, and was named Asia Pacific Champion of IBM Watson Build 2018 at Think. tMonitor JSC (formerly ThinkLABs), the name behind the tMonitor solution, was the only Vietnamese company on the shortlist as Asia Pacific Champion.

Using IBM Cloud and IBM Watson technology, IBM Business Partner tMonitor created an award-winning air monitoring system targeted for industrial sites. The solution uses remote sensors to actively track 13 different air quality indexes and alerts users automatically when the environment becomes dangerous or toxic.

IBM launched Watson Build for the first time in February 2017. The program has reached over 1,700 business partner executives from 80+ countries, received 650 AI based concepts, supported 100+ partners to develop an AI solution on IBM Cloud, and enabled partners to take their solutions to market.

This year, over 400 IBM Business Partners around the world joined Watson Build, and more than 250 prototypes were submitted – a new record!

In early January 2019, tMonitor JSC is proud to be announced by IBM Watson Build that we are the only Vietnamese company present in the shortlist and selected to be Asia Pacific Geography Champion.
